Do I have to pay to transfer my domain to you?
If you have a UK domain (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, and .uk), you do not have to pay to transfer your domain to us. Just set up the transfer, put in the Nominet tag, and you’ll be moved over to us. However, if you have a gTLD domain, such as a .com, .net, or any of the newer domain extensions, you will be charged to transfer to us. Once your transfer is complete, you’ll get a full year of domain hosting for absolutely free, meaning you won’t need to worry about renewing for a year.
What could stop me from getting my ideal domain name?
If someone else already owns the domain, you can’t purchase it at that time. You can see if another TLD is available with that name (switching to a .co instead of a .com, for example), try a variation on the name, or regularly check and see if the domain has expired and is now available. Some country-code TLDs (such as .it and .eu) will also have restrictions on them, such as needing to be a resident of that area. If you’re notified that you can’t purchase a domain due to location, even if you’re in that location, check your account contact details and see if your address needs to be changed.
Will you charge more when I renew?
Absolutely not. We don’t believe in luring customers in with a loss-leading first-year domain price only to massively increase the price when you renew. The price you see for your first year is the price you’ll pay for the renewal, and if that changes at any time, we’ll let you know well in advance.
What’s your Nominet (IPS) tag?
The Nominet IPS tag to transfer your UK domain to us is “ENIXLTD”. Set that tag at your existing host, search for your domain in our domain search, and select the “Transfer” option when it appears. Once you’ve gone through the transfer process, your UK domain will be with us for absolutely free.
Do I have to buy a hosting package to have my domains with Eco Web Hosting?
Not at all. You can have as many domains as you want without having to purchase web hosting as well. You’ll get our great renewal prices, excellent service, and all the features we give each domain name.
Do you automatically renew my domains?
We set up domains to renew automatically in your account, and we will always email you ahead of time to remind you that your domain is up for renewal. You can turn off auto-renewal in your control panel. We will still email you to remind you that the domain is coming up to its renewal date, in case you want to switch it back to auto-renew or renew the domain manually.
Do I have to pay to transfer my domain away from you?
You will not need to pay to unlock or transfer your domain away from us. We’ll be sad to see you go, but we won’t charge you extra to leave.
Do I have to pay extra to use your DNS?
There are no extra fees for using our DNS. The Domain Name System (DNS) is included as standard.
What if I want a TLD that isn’t available in your search?
Please talk to our Support Team — we might be able to get that extension added to our system for you.
What payment options do you provide?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. All prices are in pound sterling and do not include tax, which will be added at checkout based on your location.
